A city should work like the human body. With an immune system keeping the garbage off sidewalks, kidneys to filter the water coursing though the sewers–then our bodies. Many building’s walls are bare or outright ugly, but if we overlay them with plants at high-carbon areas, we’ll all breath better. If oxygen is vital to us, it should be vital to our cities. Resources should be distributed appropriately when and where needed–if we turned some of the cities abandoned buildings into homeless shelters or mental rehabilitation centers, it would lower homelessness and make more decent paying jobs–while reducing crime. I think if cities are restructured it wouldn’t take an hour to get to work, if our blood-vessels looked like our streets we be dead. Learn from nature, it spawned us, and it’s the only thing that’s lasted this long.
